you know when you get hurt, like run into the open dishwasher with your shin (I do this probably twenty times a week) or maybe drop a can or your toe? Do you ever wish you had a great bruise or a little swelling to kind of prove how bad it hurts. Like "Hey you see that bruise? Yeah I'm not a wimp for crying because look at all that swelling?" Well last night I dropped my laptop right down on my foot. Ouch! Seriously... It hurt super bad instantly. Tear sprung to my eyes. I looked down and I had a cut that was starting to bleed pretty good. It only took a couple of minutes after limping to the bathroom to pour some hydrogen peroxide on my wound to notice the swelling. I had to show Chad how bad it looked so he could understand that it really did hurt. For the rest of the night I limped around and tried not to let any of the ooze get on the couch or anything. I went to bed a little excited for the huge bruise I would surely get by morning to show off how bad it really hurt. It never helps to have a little temporary war wound to try for some sympathy points. What did I wake up to? A normal foot with a little scratch. Seriously... I was so disappointed. The swelling went down, no more blood, and NO BRUISE! No sympathy for my, just a little pain as I walk around in my flip flops. Next time I'll try for a band-aid to show off.
P.S. No laptops were harmed in this while ordeal.
P.P.S. (or is it P.S.S?) I really am grateful I didn't sustain any long lasting damage to my foot. The only point I'm trying to make is that I wouldn't mind a bruise here and there... when it hurts so bad!

haha!! i've done that on my hip, running right into the edge of the counter!!!! except for IT DID bruise, and yes they hurt!!
I totally know what you mean. When I was at my internship, I walked into several pieces of gym equipment in the tiny room we ran fitness in and I could always feel my bruises, but they weren't usually very impressive, or visible for that matter. I also stubbed my toe recently when I got up to pee and realized I cracked my toenail and then had this stupid bloodblister on my toe for like a week. It hurt really bad and the blister still didn't really do it justice. I couldn't get back to sleep after for like two hours (which is rare for me since I fall asleep quick as you know). Once it healed like two weeks later, I stubbed my freakin toe AGAIN. Different foot, but still another broken and bloody toenail. They say that when you're pregnant, you're clumsy. And I can vouch for that.
