Family Pictures

Besides being with a new family, I had another first this Thanksgiving. Taking family pictures with a new family! That was an… interesting experience. We all met at a park at 10:00 am to meet up with the photographer and to take the pictures. Well, most of us were there at 10 but we had to wait for the last of the family who finally showed up around 10:30. That’s fine, they had tons of kids to have to get dressed and ready. It was cold and we were trying to take pictures before it rained. By the time we finally took the pictures of the whole family it was spitting on us a little but not too bad. We got most of the kids to smile and look happy for the picture which I thought counted as a success. The problem wasn’t us though, it was the photographer. She was way nice and she seemed to be great at directing us and everything. We got the pictures back though and what a disappointment! In almost all of the pictures either our heads or necks are chopped off. She took a lot of candid shots of the kids while we were waiting but when it comes to pictures of the whole family there are only three to choose from, and not very great ones either. There is one that turned out well and it will, I’m sure, be the one we end up using but it was just a very sad disappointment. It isn’t often they get everyone together to take pictures. Hopefully next time will be better!
